MATERIALS:
- Pre-existing Skirt
- Fringe
- Ruler
- Chalk
- Fabri-Tac
- Fabric Scissors
OPTIONAL:
- Sewing Machine
- Velvet Ribbon
- Curved Ruler
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. First decide how much space you want between each row of fringe. * The row of fringe below should start about 2-3” higher than the end of the fringe above so that they overlap, and the trim isn’t visible.*
2. Starting at the top of your skirt use your ruler and chalk to make marks down the side seams and the middle of the front and back of the skirt. Connect the marks horizontally with chalk freehand or use a curved ruler. *Do not use a straight ruler because the skirt already has a curve to it. *
3. Beginning from the bottom row up, Fabri-Tac your fringe on the marked line. Do not cut your fringe.
4. Then lay a line of glue along the top trim of your fringe and add a second layer of fringe on top of the first layer. Once you’re back at the starting point cut and secure the end with a pin until the glue dries. *If desired, pin and sew the fringe on instead. *
5. Repeat steps 3-4 for each line you’ve marked.
6. Once all your fringe is attached add velvet ribbon at the top to cover the top of the last fringe and finish off the skirt.
7. Allow the glue to cure, remove the pins and enjoy!
